BEST for DIY: DeWalt Cordless Drill
The name DeWalt in DIY is synonymous with the highest quality of workshop tools. I bought my first DeWalt product, a circular saw about 5 years ago and have never looked back. I also have this super cordless drill.
When I saw that many of the construction contractors used this brand that said it all. In this day and age of low quality, cheaper tools usually emanating from the Far East or China, one thing you want is reliability and strength to take you through tasks without breaking or breaking down.
DeWalt Reliability
DEWALT is a main manufacturer of a variety of industrial power tools, including both corded and cordless drills. So whether it's saws or hammers, routers or sanders, and so many other tools, DEWALT is a name that can be relied upon. With thousands of locations around the world, especially North America, their tools can be found in any good hardware store.
DEWALT’s DC970K-2 18-volt drill-driver kit is a powerful tool ideal for home of professional use. It has a strong high-performance motor inside an ergonomic, compact design which makes it comfortable for the user, especially when operating in tight spots. It's ideal for drilling a host of materials like wood, metal, plastic and concrete. This model is a great starter for anyone, whether they're a professional or an enthusiastic DIY'er .
Compact and Cordless
There are so many advantages in having a cordless drill, many which are obvious. However, one advantage can go unnoticed, that of user fatigue. Yes, whenever one is carrying out a lengthy drilling program the hands and wrists can become tired and sore. But with the DC970K-2 drill there is none of that due to its high-output motor which maximizes performance, as well as its dual-speed capability (0-450 RPM and 0-1,500 RPM) which maximizes efficiency.
Also being very light in weight at just over 5 pounds and only 9-inches in length make it the perfect tool for working in awkward spaces.
What You Get in the Box
- 1 x DEWALT DC970K-2 18-volt drill/driver kit,
- 1 x 1/2-inch compact drill-driver,
- 2 x 18-volt NiCAD batteries, (this is good as you need a spare!),
- 1 x one-hour charger,
- 1 x carrying case.
I have used dozens of drills in my time, and only one comes even close, my Bosch cordless, but I still find this one the easiest and most comfortable to use. Don't settle for inferior tools, it really is a false economy.
